Islam in the Media & the Real World Public Presentation

Susan Douglass is from the Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding at Georgetown University.

The presentation will explore how we are exposed to Islam in the media. Terms such as jihad and hijab come across our news media on nearly a daily basis, becoming household words with no context. Douglass will discuss approaches to these difficult topics, access to primary and secondary sources, and activities to help individuals engage critically with these issues.
